Nonetheless, these variables regularly have extraordinary impacts over individuals and should be watched. Marie Antoinettes contribution in the French Revolution is the ideal case of a minuscule impetus causing a lot of progress. The unrest was without a doubt brought about by the developing discontent of the French populace towards the maltreatment of the high society. Nonetheless, no unrest could prevail without images or symbols like Marie Antoinette. It was through cunning talk and contorting of realities with respect to French progressives that Marie Antoinette turned into a symbol for degenerate government, in this manner, changing her picture from a mindful sovereign to a ravenous villain to help in the benefit of the progressives political destinations. Destined to the Austrian sovereign Maria Theresa on November 2, 1755, Marie Antoinette was obliged to wed Louis XVI of France to represent a collusion among Austria and France. Unexpectedly, in the start of her union with the sovereign, Marie Antoinette was cherished by the French individuals. She further settled her notoriety for benevolence and sympathy by halting her carriage for longer than an hour to help a harmed individual. She would not proceed until she had set up the nearness of a specialist. She at that point demanded a cot for the injured man, rather than an awkward post-chaise, and followed its encouraging (Fraser 170). Be that as it may, these very characteristics didn't make a difference once Marie Antoinettes notoriety started to radically fall. In spite of the fact that the time itself was a troublesome time for the French government, it was fundamentally Antoinette's own disposition to her position that caused the most genuine harm. Tattoos and Mainstream Culture :: Argumentative Persuasive Topics

Tattoos and Mainstream Culture Numerous individuals have been getting tattoos of late. Individuals of the sum total of what ages have been getting them and from every single distinctive foundation. The Significance Of Mass Extinction Events Environmental Sciences Essay

The Significance Of Mass Extinction Events Environmental Sciences Essay There are two kinds of terminations those that are at foundation levels and those that are portrayed as mass eradications. A mass annihilation can be characterized as a moderately fast eradication of a geologically far reaching and different gathering of living being. Throughout the entire existence of earth there have been around five significant eradication occasions in the invertebrate record. These are known as the large five. They incorporate the end Ordovician, late Devonian, end Permian, end Triassic and end Cretaceous. The end Permian was presumably the most pulverizing eliminations, where 80-90% of marine species went wiped out and ashore there was significant changes in plant arrays (Futuyma 2009). A mass termination is thought to happen because of the life forms neglecting to adjust to changes in the earth. Along these lines a mass eradication can be viewed as being specific. It very well may be quality particular where the reason for the mass termination (outward factor) is influencing a specific natural characteristic (inherent components) of a creature or gathering of life forms, making it less or progressively inclined to the mass elimination occasion. For instance a plant will be increasingly inclined to an a worldwide temperature alteration occasion in the event that it has slender leaves keeping it from overheating. It can likewise be ordered specific, where a taxa is effectively chosen upon because of the reason for the mass elimination as possibly some scientific categorizations experience the ill effects of the eradication then different gatherings, anyway ordered selectivity is minor with certain exemptions, for example, the dinosaurs (Raup 1994). A mass termination may likewise be geological specific, following up on at least one pieces of the world. Advancement essentialness A ton of study has been done on the reasons for mass eradication occasions and less on the causes it might have in term of development (Erwin 2001). The eradication of a far reaching animal varieties will require an ecological stun , either physical or organic, which the species has not recently experienced or is fast to such an extent that adaption by means of common determination or relocation is forestalled (Raup 1994). Overcomers of the mass annihilation are those that are perhaps pre-adjusted to the startling worry of the eradication. A case of one is depicted in (Raup 1986) where if there was ionizing radiation, it would slaughter all warm blooded animals uncovered yet would have less of an impact on most bugs and plants. This implies annihilations are exceptionally particular however doesn't add to the general achievement an animal varieties has regarding ordinary occasions. In any case if this was a reoccurring occasion brought about by a similar emergency each time, at that point the development of a component to adapt would frame through normal determination (Raup 1986). Variables influencing endurance The assorted variety we see today are the overcomers of mass terminations. There have been recommendations to what can make one animal groups endure while others go terminated during a mass annihilation occasion. One is the speculation of the species. All things considered, less explicit species will adapt better under the pressure then increasingly adjusted, explicit species. For instance if an animal varieties is profoundly adjusted and explicit to a specific food type or confined to an area due to having restricted ecological resiliences, it will be affected on more cruelly then a species that is perhaps more geologically across the board (for example ecological generalists), having the option to adjust or make due in various areas, or has a wide scope of reasonable food sources (Erwin 1998). Anyway this likewise relies upon to what extent the eradication continues for. On the off chance that it is delayed, at that point natural authorities will be evacuated and generalists will i n all likelihood endure . Other factor to why an animal groups may endure an occasion, could be because of its area at that point. Depending topographically where the species is found will decide it its endurance , for instance in the early Permian where max decent variety at low scopes, moved to max assorted variety at center to high scopes by the late Triassic this is proof of ice atmosphere to a hot one (Rees 2002).This is on the grounds that lower scope taxa( specifically tropical biological systems) may be feeling the squeeze and at a higher danger of termination then higher scope taxa (Erwin 1998) during an Earth-wide temperature boost occasion. This is on the grounds that an unnatural weather change occasion causes the tropical ever-wet biome to become smaller because of the extending of precipitation all around. Body size may likewise assume its job on endurance. It was recommended that huge body size (or long age times) would endure more prominent in extinctions(Erwin 2001). Enormous body size can be viewed as a kind of specialization by some(McKinney 1997) and has lead to the understanding that the impact body size on elimination is distinctive between taxa. For instance little body size of freshwater fish advances eliminations since they are wasteful at dispersal. Enormous body size then again has two examples; one is between firmly related species where huge body size makes the species more averse to go wiped out. This is on the grounds that possibly bigger body size will give that species more prominent upper hands thus become progressively bounteous. The other patter is seen between indirectly related taxa this time huge body size builds the danger of eradication in view of the liabilities of having such an enormous body. (McKinney 1997). Regarding advancement, the survivors body sizes are those that will spread after the elimination, possibly influencing future species size decent variety. Impact on Evolution It is obvious that practically the entirety of the species that have lived on Earth have ceased to exist (Newman et al 1994). The reason for this is eradication, thus it assumes a significant job in the development of life (Raup 1986). After any termination occasion, be it mass or foundation, there will consistently be lost populaces and species bringing about a general abatement is assorted variety. Anyway during recuperation there is a repopulation occasion, after which species become accessible to new open specialties for testing and adaption. This is unique in relation to normal steady adaption, yet none the less has contributed extraordinarily to the decent variety of life we have on earth today. The development of one animal types advancing to the new specialty can cause the eradication of the predecessor as well as aim a dominos impact, where various different species will advance related thus. This causes a torrential slide impact thought the biological system (Newman et al 1 994). Environmental noteworthiness Mass annihilations basically reset the developmental clock, starting all over again, they make new transformative chances and can even divert the course of advancement (Erwin D 2001) (Futuyma 2009) yet this considerably influences the biological system, as the two life forms and condition influence each other. Studies have demonstrated that the mass elimination occasions are trailed by an endurance interim where there is no enhancement, trailed by a recuperation stage which has a quick expansion stage an interim of exponential development (Erwin D 2001). When taking a gander at the fossil record at the termination skyline there is generally a hole in the dregs drained of fossils, or more this an animal categories poor gathering of survivors (Erwin D1998). The survivors are frequently plenteous and geologically across the board comprising of pioneering taxa. Portrayed underneath are two instances of such a case. Model 1: The Cretaceous-Tertiary( K-T) eradication which happened 65mya was related with an effect of an enormous bolide. In the silt it was described by a layer comprising of iridium and stunned quarts prevailing by a bed wealthy in greenery spores. From new-Zealand residue there is proof of contagious spores over the limit. The parasitic rich interim gives proof to an endurance time of pioneering taxa. Post sway the dampness was in all probability high while there was diminished sunlight based iridescence brought about by the expansion in barometrical sulfur vaporizers and residue. This sort of condition would have supported saprophytic life (alongside the accessibility of dead plant matter) prompting the strength for parasitic species for a couple of years (Vajda et al 2004). The recuperation stage for the most part finishes with the return of clades which would have seemed to have vanished because of the mass annihilation emergency (Erwin D 1998). Model 2: is during the end Permian mass annihilation (brought about by an ecological change because of flood basal volcanism as Pangaea was moving northward) , where there was an underlying vanishing of conifers during the emergency with lycopsids and greeneries getting prevailing in the endurance stage. Lycopsids could endure the emergency since they were fit for enduring the brutal conditions and UV-B radiation brought about by the expanded arrival of volcanic substances (Visscher 2004). None the less, the predominance of lycopsids was not lasting and after the endurance time frame conifers were ruling by and by at the recuperation stage. The plants in this time didn't go terminated but instead, the gymnosperm kicked the bucket back while the lycopides got copious yet had the option to make a rebound after th e occasion. Strangely is that mass annihilation occasion at every one of the limits is counterbalanced among fauna and flora(asynchronous), as they are both affected diversely both transformative and biologically by mass elimination occasions. Plants Obviously plants, in contrast to creatures, once in a while go terminated during a mass eradication yet rather there is a difference in predominance. Plants are novel to creatures in that they are profoundly adjusted to their condition, this is because of the way that they are not portable, and any development for instance through movement can take up to a huge number of years. Inferable from this they are connected and adjusted especially through their underlying foundations to the lithosphere and hydrosphere of the geosphere and by means of their airborne parts, for example, leaves, shoots and conceptive structures to the environment. Consequently in all the mass elimination occasions we see barely any annihilation of plants and rather a turnover of strength and this had two unmistakable consequences for development and biology. In the event that the natural change is s

placement test-Pablo Picasso - 550 Words

placement test-Pablo Picasso (Essay Sample) Content: Surname Tutor Subject Date Pablo Picasso Pablo Picasso a renowned Spanish painter, stage designer, printmaker, and sculptor at one time said â€Å"Inspiration will come, but it has to find you working†. Picasso is known for influencing the cubist movement that revolutionized art in the 20th century. Picasso never planned most of his paintings. He simply got down to painting and allowed ideas to modify his paintings flow freely as he worked. It is this attribute of beginning to do something that at first seems impossible and then unravels ideas on how to do it in the process. In the modern world, it is important to think about solutions to given problems and to put the thoughts into actions in order to get more ideas to solve a particular problem. Many people fail to find solution to life’s problems because of their reluctance to try the simple solutions they first think about. For instance, there are writers who never discover their writing talent sinc e they never try to write anything at all. If such individuals could ignore the challenges, they presume they will face and focus on the writing, then they probably would emerge as proficient and professional writers. I am certainly not a writer, but I get to try a lot of other things including writing. I never limit my ability to what I can or cannot do, but will go an extra mile and continuously challenge myself to learn new things and activities whenever I get the opportunity to do so. Just recently, I could hardly swim across the width of a swimming pool in the shallow end. I thought it an impossible fete to hold my breath from one end of the swimming pool width to the other. The best I could do is take a deep breath, immerse my body into the water then kick violently with both my hands and feet and, with all that effort, just manage to reach at least half of the swimming pool width. One day, I decided to learn to swim once and for all. I committed to attend swimming sessions ev ery day when the pool was less crowded. I passionately requested the swimming pool attendant to guide and watch over me just in case to avoid drowning. Seeing my spirit and motivation, the attendant agreed to my request and instructed and motivated me every single day I took to serious learning. After a three weeks practicing period, I could not only freely swim across the width of the pool but also do it without gasp...

Throughout the age of science and theology, there has been...

Throughout the age of science and theology, there has been a constant controversial debate regarding the existence of an intelligent designer, specifically, the idea of irreducibly complex systems. Michael Behe defines this as â€Å"a single system composed of several well-matched, interacting parts that contribute to the basic function, wherein the removal of any one of the parts causes the system to effectively cease functioning†¦ An irreducibly complex biological system, if there is such a thing, would be a powerful challenge to Darwinian evolution† (Behe, p. 39). On one side, most Christians believe that God, as the intelligent designer, is responsible for all that earth inhabits, including their biological systems in which they live by.†¦show more content†¦When reviewing the different responses, there was a majority of support for the notion of the existence of an intelligent designer. There were some compelling arguments, including a few that conversed a bout the flagella of bacteria. One of my peers brought up the point that the flagella has quite an interesting make-up that allows it to have various functions in its individual components. Its ability â€Å"to cause locomotion of bacteria† is stunning because â€Å"the chances of all that machinery coming together in the proper manner are next to none.† The molecular motor of the bacterial flagellum is amazing in its interior design as how every component compliments one another. With the existence of a completely complex, irreducible system in the flagellum, it is difficult not to believe that there could have been an intelligent designer behind the whole process. Another idea that is in support of intelligent design is DNA. Specifically, the transcription and translation process in DNA. The driving factor in the DNA argument is the presence of the enzymes. This is because without the enzymes, there would be missing functions and undesired results. Either that or â⠂¬Å"the process itself would be immensely slowed down or simply stopped.† The ability for DNA to spontaneously fold, unfold, and form is a highlyShow MoreRelatedThe Debate Between Evolution and Creationism1648 Words | 7 PagesIf the question was posed as to what is the debate between creationism vs. evolution consist of, the thought that it is ‘â€Å"God did it† vs. â€Å"Natural processes did it,†Ã¢â‚¬â„¢ (Scott, 2004) may arise. Ba Trieu Warrior Lady of Vietnam

Sometime around 225 CE, a baby girl was born to a high-ranking family in northern Vietnam. We dont know her original given name, but she is generally known as Trieu Thi Trinh or Trieu An. The scanty sources that survive about Trieu Thi Trinh suggest that she was orphaned as a toddler, and was raised by an elder brother. Lady Trieu Goes to War At the time Vietnam was under the domination of the Eastern Wu Dynasty of China, which ruled with a heavy hand. In 226, the Wu decided to demote and purge the local rulers of Vietnam, members of the Shih Dynasty. In the uprising that followed, the Chinese killed more than 10,000 Vietnamese. This incident was only the latest in centuries of anti-Chinese rebellion, including that led by the Trung Sisters more than 200 years earlier. When Lady Trieu (Ba Trieu) was about 19 years old, she decided to raise an army of her own and go to war against the oppressive Chinese. According to Vietnamese legend, Lady Trieus brother tried to prevent her from becoming a warrior, advising her to get married instead. She told him, I want to ride the storm, tread the dangerous waves, win back the fatherland and destroy the yoke of slavery. I dont want to bow down my head, working as a simple housewife. Other sources assert that Lady Trieu had to flee into the mountains after murdering her abusive sister-in-law. In some versions, her brother actually led the original rebellion, but Lady Trieu showed such ferocious bravery in battle that she was promoted to head of the rebel army. Battles and Glory Lady Trieu led her army north from the Cu-Phong District to engage the Chinese, and over the next two years, defeated the Wu forces in more than thirty battles. Chinese sources from this time record the fact that a serious rebellion had broken out in Vietnam, but they do not mention that it was led by a woman. This is likely due to Chinas adherence to Confucian beliefs, including the inferiority of women, which made military defeat by a female warrior particularly humiliating. Defeat and Death Perhaps in part because of the humiliation factor, the Taizu Emperor of Wu determined to stamp out Lady Trieus rebellion once and for all in 248 CE. He sent reinforcements to the Vietnamese frontier, and also authorized the payment of bribes to Vietnamese who would turn against the rebels. After several months of heavy fighting, Lady Trieu was defeated. According to some sources, Lady Trieu was killed in the final battle. Other versions hold that she jumped into a river and committed suicide, like the Trung Sisters. The Legend After her death, Lady Trieu passed into legend in Vietnam and became one of the immortals. Over the centuries, she acquired superhuman traits. Folktales record that she was both incredibly beautiful and extremely frightening to see, nine feet (three meters) tall, with a voice as loud and clear as a temple bell. She also had breasts three feet (one meter) long, which she reportedly threw over her shoulders as she rode her elephant into battle. How she managed to do so, when she was supposed to be wearing gold armor, is unclear. Dr. Craig Lockard theorizes that this representation of the superhuman Lady Trieu became necessary after Vietnamese culture accepted the teachings of Confucius, under continued Chinese influence, which states that women are inferior to men. Prior to the Chinese conquest, Vietnamese women held a much more equal social status. In order to square Lady Trieus military prowess with the idea that women are weak, Lady Trieu had to become a goddess rather than a mortal woman. Its encouraging to note, however, that even after well over 1,000 years, the ghosts of Vietnams pre-Confucian culture emerged during the Vietnam War (American War). Ho Chi Minhs army included a large number of female soldiers, carrying on the tradition of the Trung Sisters and Lady Trieu. Sources Jones, David E. Problems with Wildlife Essay - 1704 Words

Problems with Wildlife nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp; It is blatantly obvious that the level of wildlife has been decreasing amazingly over the years. Species of animals and plants are rapidly becoming endangered or even extinct. nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp; There are many factors that are making this problem a reality. Habitat destruction, hunting, and pollution are the three major factors that are destroying our wildlife. nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp; The destruction of habitat is the greatest of all threats to wildlife, whether they’re rich tropical forests, mangroves, swamps, coral reefs, or your own local grassland or woods. Psle Free Essays

Should PSLE be scrapped off? What is PSLE? The Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) is basically an examination taken by Primary 6 students before they go onto their Secondary School education. As different Secondary Schools have different cut-off points based on the previous intake, schools with higher cut-off points are usually regarded as the better ones. Naturally, parents would prefer their child to get into a better school, as they believe that these schools will offer their children a better education. We will write a custom essay sample on Psle or any similar topic only for you Order Now Other than PSLE, there is also other ways a student can get into their desired Secondary School such as the Direct School Admission (DSA). Students who are able to choose the DSA approach are usually more sports or art inclined. The Ongoing Debate Recently, many Singaporeans have considered PSLE as the ‘do or die’ examination. The reason is because parents are feeling too much pressure on account of the PSLE. Many parents want their children to get into brand name schools, causing them to feel stressed and worried. â€Å"People take secondary school admission so very seriously. If I don’t get into that school, then my kid has no chance in life’,† said Prime Minister Mr Lee Hsien Loong. Mr Lee also mentioned that ‘every school is a good school’ so that they can get the pressure off the parents. However, not every parent in Singapore is pressurized by the fact that his or her children may not be able to get into a good Secondary School. Ho usewife Sandy Lee, 40, said she enrolled her son Zong Wei in Townsville Primary as she felt that the principal and teachers cared for the pupils. She is also not too worried about her son’s PSLE results. She said: â€Å"I don’t want to pressure him too much, as long as he can get into a secondary school. † And with this in mind, there is an ongoing debate on whether the PSLE should be abolished as it is causing too much stress on Singaporean students and parents as well. One of the The Straits Times’ current affairs website readers asked if Singapore could reduce the reliance on exams, and even do away with the PSLE. This emerged among the top 10 most pressing questions that people wanted the Prime Minister to answer, according to a week-long poll on the website that drew over 21,000 votes. The stress that comes with PSLE is something that needs to be looked at, but scrapping the exam or tweaking the assessment criteria may not be the solution, said Senior Minister of State Lawrence Wong. My Personal Experience I’ve taken PSLE in the year 2007 and I have to admit that PSLE was pretty stressful for me. Every day after school, I had to go for supplementary lessons conducted by teachers till 5 to 6pm every day and then head home for dinner before revising again. During the weekends, I had to attend tuition and there was no playtime for me. I did that continuously for 4 to 5 months before PSLE. My parents have always supported me throughout that period of time and were always cheering me on. They have never given me any stress. Instead, they asked me to set a goal for myself and to ask myself, â€Å"What do I want in life? † After knowing what I want in life, everything felt like it was worth it and after PSLE ended I had 2 months of holiday just purely relaxing and enjoying myself as I felt like I gave my best and had no regrets. So, should PSLE be scrapped off? My personal opinion In my opinion, I think that PSLE is a very good way of gauging a student’s learning pace. A school with a lower cut-off point doesn’t mean that it is a bad school; it’s just a school for students with a slower learning pace. The main problem with PSLE is the stress that it’s causing for students and I believe that it is because many students are just like the me I was back then, learning what it feels like to be stressed for the first time. In life, everything has its first time and if a student is not able to deal with the stress from PSLE, he or she will never be able to deal with the stress in Secondary School. Hence, I strongly believe that PSLE should not be scrapped off. Conclusion Let the students taking PSLE work towards a goal set by themselves and not their parents. This way, students will drive themselves towards it. And after all of it, it’ll be worthwhile. Reference: Chia, S Toh, K. (2012, September 22). Scrapping PSLE Not The Solution: Lawrence Wong. The deals provided by the tourism sector should be convincing enough that the customers should not deny the offer. It depends on the perspective of the tourist agent to understand the needs of the customers and provide them the same. Travelers remain concerned about their budget. Therefore, selecting the places that remain within their budget is important. It might happen that the travelers might not as if the places that the tourist operate offer them. Prosecution Versus Defense free essay sample

There are important people in the adversarial system used through the United States. The defense counsel referred to as the defense attorney, renders services on behalf of the indicted and exhibits legal defense for the client, and search for legal justification when appropriate. The other half of the defense counsel is the prosecutor. Prosecuting attorneys is an agent for the public, preferably not individualized people, and in extent is accountable for providing and introducing the state case facing defendants in criminal and civil court (Meyer amp; Grant, 2003). The function of the prosecutor basically rotates around ensuring that guilt does not go unpunished, the task of the defense attorney surrounds the need to ensure that the legally innocent are not found guilty and that the authority of the state has an adversarial counterpart to make sure some level of honesty is represented for individuals. The prosecutor handles abundant discretion in deciding whether to originally go after a case and immediately charge the accused. They may find what to offer the defense when a plea bargain is settled and have the power to drop and re-file charges when it is appropriate to do so. Prosecutors may be engaged in horizontal prosecution or where there are several prosecutors may be assigned to the case throughout each legal stage, or vertical prosecution, where there will be a single prosecutor following the case through each legal stage (Meyer amp; Grant, 2003). There are many parts to the duties of the defense attorney. While representing the accused throughout the case, they may engage in diverse activities which may eventually affect the end result of the case. Some activities include legally advising the defendant on what course of action they should take so to have a satisfactory verdict, representing their client at court appearances, keeping client-attorney confidentiality and also important getting ready for their client defense. The prosecution has the task of proving the guilt of the defendant beyond a reasonable doubt, and the defense is not required to construct a defense usually do so (Meyer amp; Grant, 2003). The prosecutor has more paperwork than the defense attorney. The prosecutor works more closely with law enforcement when gathering details and evidence for the case against the accused.

Evaluate the Market Research Method Used by a Selected Organization Research Paper Example

Evaluate the Market Research Method Used by a Selected Organization Paper Evaluate the Market Research Method Used by a Selected Organization BY nali143 Dl evaluate the market research method used by a selected organisation Introduction I am going to evaluate the market research methods IVe used in P3 to carry out my marketing research into the restaurant industry; I will talk about the strength and weaknesses of the methods. In addition I will also give recommendations for improving the methods and Justifications for improving them. Criteria Strengths Weaknesses Recommendation from improving the method Justification for improving the method Questionnaires The strength of questionnaires is it can give an insight into respondents thoughts and opinions and also cost efficient as it is inexpensive. The weakness of questionnaire would be that respondents may be influenced the researcher and therefore compromise its validity. In addition questionnaires must be kept short to avoid confusing the respondent. To improve the method of questionnaires in my research would be to use a bigger sample size than 20 as it does not give a much broader insight into peoples opinions. The reason I would need to improve and use a bigger sample size is that 20 sample sizes does not give much insight into peoples houghts and opinions as its too small and to improve my results I would need use a much bigger sample size maybe 300 at least. Office for National statistics (ONS) The strength of using ONS statistics is that its a reliable source and well researched and doubled checked to make sure its correct. We will write a custom essay sample on Evaluate the Market Research Method Used by a Selected Organization specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now We will write a custom essay sample on Evaluate the Market Research Method Used by a Selected Organization specifically for you FOR ONLY $16.38 $13.9/page Hire Writer We will write a custom essay sample on Evaluate the Market Research Method Used by a Selected Organization specifically for you FOR ONLY $16.38 $13.9/page Hire Writer The weakness of ONS would be that it is time consuming as ONS produces wide range statistics from economy to market industry statistics. For example as I was researching for Maliah Miah into the restaurant industry, I had to browse ONS website and find the information that specific and relevant to my research which took I a bit of time. To improve this method I recommend using the search engine provided by ONS website to narrow down the information relevant and specific to your research. The reason this method needs improving is that it can be really time consuming to browse the ONS website for hours looking for information that is relevant to your research so it would be quicker using search engines to narrow down the information by typing into search engine bar. For example if youre looking for statistics related to the restaurant industry you would type restaurant industry which would return a hit and results elated to the restaurant industry and then pick out the information relevant to your research. Internet The strength of using the internet for your research is that you have access to wide range of information; its also fast and time efficient. The weakness of using internet if the information youre looking at is correct and up to date. To improve the method of using internet for your research , I would recommend checking the reliability of the information youre looking and cross check your results to make sure that they are correct , in addition also check the time and date the information was last updated or odified as this gives you an idea of the accuracy of the information. The reason you would need to improve this method is that if youre carrying out a research , your information needs to be reliable , up-to date and accurate and if its not your whole research ceases to be valid as it cannot be relied on to make decisions. Keynotes The strength of using keynotes for your research is that its reliable and accurate as its produced by the city of business in Moorgate. In addition it records trends over the years and since its collection of information its easy to analyse. The weakness of sing keynotes for your research are its time consuming to find specific information that is relevant to your research and also it may be expensive as you have to purchase it from the city of business library in Moorgate. My recommendation for improving keynotes as a method for your research would be to look at the index page and the contents page to find the relevant information that specific to your research. Using the index you can alphabetically pinpoint the information youre looking for and turn to that page to read about and implement the information into to your research. My Justification for improving this method is that it would easier and not time consuming to pinpoint and find the information that specific and relevant to your research. No one wants to sift through lots of information to find the date theyre looking for as this would not be time efficient method so using the index and contents page to find the information youre looking for would save time and make the researcher time efficient Stages of research The strength of the stages of the research is that its concise and easily laid out timeline which shows when each aspect of the research would be completed. For example stage one of the research which research brief would be completed by 5th march 2013 followed by stage two which should be completed a week later on 12th of march 2013. Stage two :Define the issue The strength of the stage two: define the issue is that youre able determine problem presented by your client and plan the ways you to solve those problems and carry out your research. Stage three: set objectives The strength of setting objectives is that it gives you an idea of you want to achieve by the end your research and also serves as guideline of what you need to cover throughout your research Stage four: write a research proposal plan of work The strength of writing research plan of work is that you as the researcher are able to specify the information you need to collect for your research and the timings for collecting each aspect of your data. Stage five: collection of data The strength of stage five is that youre able to gather the date you intended to collect for your research using the timings and the methods specified in stage four The strength of stage six is that once the researcher has collected his data, he is able to analyse and interpret the results from his research and also clarify the uantitative and qualitative data he acquired. Stage eight: Re-evaluate the market research The strength of stage 8 is that once the researcher has completed his research his able to look back in hindsight and look at anything that may have been missed or could have been done better as this could provide useful feedback for his next research and implement the things he could have done better and missed out. The weakness of using the stages of research time line is that one of aspect of the research stage may take longer than week which would mean the delaying of the other aspects of the research which would not be time efficient and cause onfusions. I will list the weakness of each aspect of the research below Stage two :Define the issue The weakness of defining the issue is that if the researcher does not truly understand what research to carry out, it will lead to the researcher undertaking inappropriate and irrelevant research that is not relevant to the client. Stage three: set objectives The weakness of setting objectives is that if its not realistic and measurable it cannot be achieved. In addition if the researcher does not clarify what needs to be covered, it could cause confusions and therefore cause delays in carrying out the research. The weakness of stage four is that if the researcher does not specify what information to collect , how its going to be collected and when to collect , it can cause confusion and delay the research therefore its paramount to establish the timings and the data that needs to collected. Stage five: collection of data The weakness of stage five is that if the researcher does not clarify the objectives and the data that needs to be collected it would lead to him collecting irrelevant information and unnecessary data. Stage six: Analysis and evaluation The weakness of stage six is that if the researcher has collected irrelevant and nnecessary data his research ceases to be valid therefore the client cannot trust the results of his research as its validity has been compromised. Stage eight : re-evaluate the market research There isnt any weakness in evaluating the market research as you are Just going back to your research to see if youVe missed anything that you needed to cover or any other aspect of the research you could have done better. My recommendation for improving using the stages of research would be to have trial run before you undertake or carry out your research as this not only prepares but also gives the esearcher an idea of how long each aspect of the research would take in terms of time. Stage two: Define the issue he completely understand the issues before carrying out his research. Stage three: My recommendation for improving stage three is that the researcher ensures that he is using the SMART method and clarifies all the objectives he needs to cover. My recommendation for improving stage four is that the researcher sets out a timeline covering all the information that needs to collected, when it needs to collected by and how its going to be collected. Stage five: collection of data My recommendation for improving stage five is that the researcher clarifies the objectives and which data needs to be collected. My recommendation for improving stage six is that the researcher avoids collecting irrelevant data by ensuring he understands which data needs to collected and the objectives he needs to cover. Stage eight : re-evaluate the market research My recommendation for improving stage eight is that the researcher ensures he covered all the objectives and collected the data to avoid missing anything. My Justifications for improving the stages of research method would be that its a ood idea for the researcher to first have trial run as it gives the researcher an idea of how much time stage of the research requires, this then allows the researcher to plan his research time efficiently and avoid delays and confusions. Stage two: Define the issue My Justification for improve stage two is that if the researcher completely understands the issues , he will be able to avoid carrying out irrelevant research that is not specific to his research and therefore the researcher does not waste his time undertaking irrelevant research. Stage three: set objectives My Justification for improving stage three is that if the researcher is using SMART method to set his objectives its realistic, measurable and therefore achievable and also if the researcher clarifies the objectives he needs to cover he is avoiding the confusions and the delay it would cause if he didnt. My Justification for improving stage four is that if the researcher sets out a time line covering the data that needs to be collected, when to collect the data and how its as it ensure the smooth undertaking of the research. Stage five: collection of data My Justification for improving stage five is that if the researcher clarifies his bjectives and the type of data that needs to be collected it helps him to avoid collecting irrelevant data therefore ensuring the validity of his research is not compromised. My Justification for improving stage six is that if the researcher ensures he completely understands the data the needs to be collected and the objectives he needs to cover will help him avoid collecting irrelevant data therefore not compromising the validity of his research. Stage eight : re-evaluate the market My Justification for improving stage eight is that if the researcher double checks and nsures he covered all the objectives and collected all the data will help him avoid missing anything and therefore making sure his research is completed. Conclusion In conclusion, I believe the marketing research methods of questionnaires, keynotes, internet, ONS and research stages are all paramount in assisting the researcher to efficiently and effectively to carry out his research and also asses the validity and accuracy of his research. in addition using the recommendation and Justifications I provided , the researcher will be able to better research data and ensure the validity and accuracy of his information is not compromised.

Geography of Iraq

Geography of Iraq Capital: Baghdad Iraq is a country that is located in western Asia and shares borders with Iran, Jordan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Syria (map). It has a very small coastline of just 36 miles (58 km) along the Persian Gulf. Iraqs capital and largest city is Baghdad and it has a population of 30,399,572 (July 2011 estimate). Other large cities in Iraq include Mosul, Basra, Irbil and Kirkuk and the countrys population density is 179.6 people per square mile or 69.3 people per square kilometer. History of Iraq From 1980 to 1988 Iraq was involved in the Iran-Iraq war which devastated its economy. The war also left Iraq as one of the largest military establishments in the Persian Gulf region (U.S. Department of State). In 1990 Iraq invaded Kuwait but it was forced out in early 1991 by a United States-led U.N. coalition. Following these events social instability continued as the countrys northern Kurdish people and its southern Shia Muslims rebelled against Saddam Husseins government. As a result, the Iraqs government used force to suppress the rebellion, killed thousands of citizens and severely damaged the environment of the regions involved. Because of the instability in Iraq at the time, the U.S. and several other countries established no-fly zones over the country and the U.N. Security Council enacted several sanctions against Iraq after its government refused to surrender weapons and submit to U.N. inspections (U.S. Department of State). Instability remained in the country throughout the rest of the 1990s and into the 2000s. In March-April 2003 a U.S.-led coalition invaded Iraq after it was claimed the country failed to comply with further U.N. inspections. This act began the Iraq War between Iraq and the U.S. Shortly the U.S.s invasion, Iraqs dictator Saddam Hussein was overthrown and the Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA) was established to handle Iraqs governmental functions as the country worked to establish a new government. In June 2004 the CPA disbanded and the Iraqi Interim Government took over. In January 2005 the country held elections and the Iraqi Transitional Government (ITG) took power. In May 2005 the ITG appointed a committee to draft a constitution and in September 2005 that constitution was completed. In December 2005 another election was held which established a new 4 year constitutional government that took power in March 2006. Despite its new government however, Iraq was still highly unstable during this time and violence was widespread throughout the country. As a result, the U.S. increased its presence in Iraq which caused a decrease in violence. In January 2009 Iraq and the U.S. came up with plans to remove U.S. troops from the country and in June 2009 they began leaving Iraqs urban areas. Further removal of U.S. troops continued into 2010 and 2011. On December 15, 2011 the Iraq War officially ended. Government of Iraq Economics and Land Use in Iraq Geography and Climate of Iraq The climate of Iraq is mostly desert and as such it has mild winters and hot summers. The countrys mountainous regions however have very cold winters and mild summers. Baghdad, the capital and largest city in Iraq has a January average low temperature of 39Â ºF (4Â ºC) and a July average high temperature of 111Â ºF (44Â ºC).

Using Social Media in the Middle East Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1250 words

Using Social Media in the Middle East - Essay Example However, the main audience was alienated by the youth on the street, in terms of often spilled, North Africa and lifeblood. The rebellion of the youth spread far beyond Egypt and Tunisia in order to enflame the whole region. The combination of offline and online strategies and other additional tactics that the organization used helped in bringing political revolution. Pollock explains that Takriz began as a tiny cyber which proclaimed itself as self-described tank (15 -24). It had thousands of networks that cooperated with journalists and as a result guarded their anonymity. Since Takriz was an elusive word, it came from street slang, which means frustration due to anger or breaking balls. Additionally, Foetus is an MBA consultant of technology who knows many languages and plays off his friend Waterman who is gifted in writing. Ben Ali’s removal made the group believe that Tunisia’s government is cut from the same cloth as the predecessor who was corrupt. It also talks about the situation being similar in Egypt, whereby the Egypt activists are cautious of the supreme council where the Armed Forces replaced Mubarak Hosni. North Africa and Middle East are elderly regimes who are unwilling to leave power as well as unable to satisfy the economic and political demands of the bulge demographic youth. The region’s population is under 30, and the unemployment of the youth stands at 20 percentage. The media technology also brought about the political revolution in the region because of the extreme use of Face book, you tube, cell phones, and satellite TV among others. Pollock notes out that Takriz also made internet access affordable as well as freedom of speech to the organizers (25-32). Internet was the only option for them in 1998, because Ben Ali is said to have taken control of the other media. However, Takriz technology officer was a skilled hacker, and since he could not afford Tunisia’s phone and internet cost, turned to internet as well as for safety, since he would meet the other organizers online without any identification. The government blocked Takriz website and many others. TuneZine was arrested and tortured. He was sent to the worst prison in the region, 120 people in one room with only one bathroom and no water. When he got sick, instead of calling a doctor they beat him and gave him no food. In 2003, he was released but died because of a heart attack at the age of 37 and Ben Ali imposed a curfew, in which journalists and activists were arrested, speeches and documents censored as well as blocked websites. The Tunisian’s protests turned to a political revolution because the videos captured events that were extremely depressing as well as highly influential. One such video was about Kasserine’s hospital that was in chaos, and desperate to treat the wounded and an image of a dead young man who had his brains spilt out. This was critical and use of this video made the second political revolu tion. It was posted on face book, YouTube and any other influential sites (Pollock, 32-44). Such acts are against the human right law. The use social media is significant in bringing out political revolution in any country. This is because social media reaches a good number of people both regionally and internationally. For example, when Takriz sent the video to Aljazeera, it reached people globally, a population face book cannot reach; the rich,

Chapter 4 exercises - Essay Example Internet connected the world and thus made the communication process more effective. In the early days a base phone and a dial up modem was used to connect the internet, but after that cable connection was invented and it increased the speed of internet. Soon after that, wireless connections were also introduced and it offered a speed of 20 Mbps. Another advantage of wireless connection is the wider area of coverage, which is not possible in cable connections. With the passage of time, the hardware section also got tremendously modified. There were enhanced and modern versions of computers were invented. The new forms came forward in the form of laptops, notebooks, tablets, Smartphone etc. Similarly other peripherals also got invented, such as printers, webcams etc. However, all the aforementioned computing devices have different uses and different functions.
